I’m so excited to begin offering BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY to my list of packages, as well as Fresh 48 sessions and here’s why…
Birth is powerful, it’s raw, it’s beautiful and it’s one of the rare moments in life that literally brings us to our knees with emotion and an intensity that goes unrivalled. I want to document it for families and I would be absolutely honoured to be invited into someone’s birth space for that reason; to gift memories of meeting your little people for the first time.
The above photo is from my most recent birth, this is our third baby Ned.
I’ve swiftly realised upon bringing him home that I may never pack a hospital bag again or feel that excited anticipation of meeting a new baby in the weeks leading up to giving birth and it’s hit me hard.
I don’t know if there will ever be another experience in life that can match when your baby is placed into your arms and that’s really hard to let go of.
So I’ve decided I need to direct that energy and passion into my art for others, I really hope there are couples out there who can appreciate the beauty in birth to decide to have it captured too.
When I was pregnant with Bess, I made the decision to invest in birth photography; but not one person I knew amongst my friendship group, family or even acquaintances had booked a birth photographer before, so it was unchartered territory.
birth photography is absolutely booming in metropolitan areas, but stills seems a “taboo” thing to do out here in our rural and regional areas.
So I want to bust a few myths for you and possibly some of the questions I had asked too when first booking.
You do not have to share them publicly.
This is the first time I have shown these images, until now I’ve kept them close to my chest, and I only reveal them because I want to convey the pure emotion, joy and power that was captured by my birth photographer, Leanne.
I will only share images with your approval and permission first.
The story of your birth might be something you wish to share with everyone or no-one and i will completely respect that.
Birth photography is not solely focused on how the baby comes out.
it’s the first time you hold them, it’s the support from your partner and birth team, it’s tiny fingers and toes, skin-to-skin, first phone calls to family and everything in between.
Now all the details!
I will be offering a one-time only introductory offer for my very first client, so please get in touch if you have any questions at all, I’ll be happy to answer them for you and I will send through all the package and pricing details.
I’ll only be taking on one birth every TWO MONTHS starting from May 2022
The areas I will be servicing will include Hamilton, Warrnambool, Mt. Gambier + Ballarat (hospital and home-births.)
and finally I would really love it if you might suggest me to a friend or family member who may be interested in birth photography!
